Concrete REcycling

When structures made of concrete are demolished or renovated, concrete recycling is an increasingly common method of utilizing the rubble. Concrete was once routinely trucked to landfills for disposal, but recycling has a number of benefits that have made it a more attractive option in this age of greater environmental awareness, more environmental laws, and the desire to keep construction and trucking costs down.

We can strategically crush and recycle concrete on your job site with accuracy and precision. Through this concrete demolition process we will pulverize the materials into usable gravel.

DECONSTRUCTION VS. DEMOLITION

durango-building-removal.jpg

Deconstruction means dismantling buildings with the goal of maximizing the reuse potential of its components. Demolition, by contrast, means the removing of a building in such a way that the building components are fit for nothing more than the landfill. When businesses for homeowners decide to rebuild or remodel an existing structure, they want to finish the project in a timely manner and at the lowest cost. It may seem easier to demolish the building. Demolition is the most common method employed today to clear a piece of land leaving a clean, buildable lot. However their may be a more cost effective alternative. This is called Deconstruction. Deconstruction is a process of carefully disassembling a structure so that the material used during the initial construction can be repurposed and given a second life.

Benefits for the Homeowner for Deconstruction: Tax donation documentation is available for every private building owner. The value of used building material donations can often be substantial. Donation figures vary depending on location, age and condition of the home and materials, topography, type of siding and interior walls, or partner retail-warehouse, landfill rates, etc. The economics can often favor deconstruction over demolition. The IRS requires a specific type of appraisal prepared by a Qualified Appraiser before the donor can take advantage of the tax benefits available through the Non-Cash Charitable Contribution program. Preparation of the documentation required by the IRS has multiple well defined steps. First, the scope of work for the project is discussed with the owner. Then, an appraiser physically inspects the property. After, the appraiser determines the fair market value of the donated salvaged building materials.
